The District 2 Board of Education approved the official 2026-2027 school calendar during its February 18 meeting.
Key dates are outlined below:
- Beginning of the School Year: Student attendance for Grades K-8 will begin on Wednesday, August 19.
- Thanksgiving: Thanksgiving will be celebrated on Thursday, November 26. There will be no school that week.
- Winter Break: There will be no school Monday, December 21, through Friday, January 1, with classes reconvening on Monday, January 4.
- Spring Break: There will be no school Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 2, with schools reopening Monday, April 5.
- End of the School Year: The last day of school will be Thursday, June 3, unless emergency days are needed.
